The ability to send information into Sazneo channels using WebHooks
Webhooks are a powerful way to connect applications in the cloud and our generic "Post Message Webhook" allows you to post a message (with optional topic and / or priority flags) directly into a channel. This is great for receiving notifications from your own systems or other webhook enabled cloud services that you use every day.
Here are the steps to create your first a Sazneo webhook:
Go to the "endpoints" tab in the Sazneo "administration" menu (admins only).
Click on "create new endpoint", enter a name for your endpoint and select the "Post Message Webhook" template
Next choose which channel you wish the messages to be posted in to.
Finally make a note of your unique 'Endpoint URL' that you have just created as this is the unique address to POST any messages to.
You can post messages with Sazneo "Topics" or as a "High Priority" message by adding to the URL parameters "topicText=New%20Topic&" and / or "priorityFlag=true&" simply by appending them to the end of the Sazneo endpoint URL e.g.
Working with webhooks can be a bit tricky when trying to diagnose a problem but once set up they are a really good way to integrate web applications and add value to the services you are using. We often use the following tools to help us diagnose any issues:
http://hurl.it/ allows you to send test data to the webhooks you are setting up in Sazneo.
